Knowles Votes ‘Yes’ on 2017-18 State Budget
6/30/2017
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Carbon/Schuylkill) voted yes on the state’s 2017-18 state budget plan that seeks to spend $31.9 billion in the upcoming fiscal year. Following the vote, Knowles made the below statement:

“Budgets like the one we voted on today plot a new course for Pennsylvania by punching holes in bureaucracy, and implementing positive changes and reducing the size and scope of state government. My colleagues and I in the House Republican Caucus passed a responsible budget on April 4, and thanks to those actions, we were able to save taxpayers hundreds of millions in wasted government spending. Overall, I’m happy to see a bipartisan plan that merges agencies and promotes efficiencies, maintains fiscal restraint, changes the way government operates and puts us on track for a sustainable future.”

The bill has been sent to the governor for his signature. Visit PAHouseGOP.com for more information on this year’s budget plan.
